Harry Kane was among six England players withdrawn early from England training on Tuesday with the Football Association citing the need to give them further rest time.
Understandably the four players involved in Liverpool’s Premier League encounter with Manchester City on Sunday – Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez, John Stones and Kyle Walker – were excused.
Jadon Sancho, 18, was also allowed to break early from the training session after playing back-to-back games for Borussia Dortmund.

But Kane’s premature exit will fuel speculation that he is still battling fatigue, having also been omitted from the starting line-up for England’s friendly against Switzerland in Leicester last month.
After all, Kane was the only player to have played on Saturday who was then given permission not to finish what was actually a relatively light work-out for all the England players ahead of Friday’s Nations League clash in Croatia.
